Retreat by the Sea
with Joan Anderson

Celebrate Your Self After a Holiday Season of Celebrating Others!
Chatham Bars Inn
Chatham, Massachusetts

Winter is perhaps the most profound season because it grants us peace - a time to go under, be quiet, and draw back from our chaotic lives for a while. Like the plants and animals, winter is a time of hibernation, a time that permits us to dream and refine our awareness. It is the season of conception - of new life - of giving both grace and rest to the bodies we inhabit. Just like the empty pods scattered across the frozen landscape reminds us of a season gone by, we too are living within empty forms that ache to be new. Still, it is hard to let go of the old securities and like those few December leaves that still cling to the oak, we shake anxiously as we herald the future. But last year is completed. It is time to shake off the drying leaves and greet that which is ahead. To that end, the Chatham Bars Inn is the perfect setting to allow winter to wrap around us.
The retreat focus will be on indulging, receiving, embracing that which surrounds us as we reflect on 2008 and project onwards to 2009.
Come eat, drink and be merry while you feast on your very life and honor the woman you are becoming!

An Odyssey to Whidbey Island
with Joan Anderson

Whidbey Island, WA

An Island Retreat – To Hear What Your Heart Needs to Say Join Joan Anderson at her first ever Northwest Retreat—An Odyssey to Whidbey Island, a pristine setting in which to plot your second journey. After a twenty minute ferry ride from the mainland you will begin to separate yourself from all roles that you play. The environment, complete with numerous trails through meadow and rainforest, a humble sanctuary, labyrinth and fire circle invites deep reflection and personal inspiration. Accommodations provide rural comfort which further take a woman back to her origins. You will be staying in rustic farmhouses or small cabins all nestled at the edge of the woods. Imagine drifting to sleep in a cozy forested setting under a country comforter and waking up to morning birdsong and fresh island air. And in the evening, taking a sauna or being warmed by wood burning stoves that take the chill out of brisk Northwesters evenings. The hallmark of Joan Anderson’s Program includes exercising body, mind, and spirit. Hiking, biking, and kayaking (optional) will be part of our escape into self. There will be a day of contemplation, as well as mandala making, weaving our life cycles, and discovering just who we truly are beyond the roles that we play. As part of your quest you will be led through the process of actual plotting your second journey and finding the road back to yourself. Come join us on Whidbey Island for three nights and four days where the echoes of the forest meet the stillness of the heart and the spaciousness of spirit.
